Roman Abramovich, sanctioned following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, has taken steps to establish a new foundation aimed at managing the £2.4 billion obtained from the sale of Chelsea. This action comes in response to legal threats from Keir Starmer and restrictions imposed by the British government.
An application for the creation of the 'Foundation for Victims of Conflict' will be submitted this week to the Charity Commission, without government authorization. The British government had previously indicated it would take legal steps to unlock the funds, currently frozen in a Fordstam Ltd bank account.
