Rapper Megan Thee Stallion was rushed to the hospital after falling ill during a performance of 'Moulin Rouge! The Musical' in New York City on Tuesday night. The 31-year-old artist, who is currently playing the role of Harold Zidler in the Broadway production, began feeling unwell shortly after the opening scenes. The show was temporarily halted as she received medical attention before being transported to a nearby hospital.

In a statement, her representative confirmed to the Daily Mail: 'During Tuesday night’s production, Megan started feeling very ill and was promptly transported to a local hospital, where her symptoms are currently being evaluated. We will share additional updates as more information becomes available.' Megan’s hairstylist, Kellon Deryck, posted on X: 'Everyone say a prayer for Megan, we are all at the hospital,' without providing further details.

Audience members also described the abrupt pause in the performance at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre. Loren Lorosa, a producer for The Breakfast Club, said the show was stopped mid-performance after Megan appeared in the opening scenes.

'They just stopped Moulin Rouge mid show, apologised to the audience and told us to stay seated,' wrote Lorosa, adding that security initially reassured attendees they were safe. Lorosa later confirmed that the performance resumed without the rapper, with another actor stepping into the role for the remainder of the evening.

Megan began her Broadway run on March 24 and is scheduled to appear in the production through May 17.
