She is best known for her role as Denise Huxtable on the long-running NBC sitcom The Cosby Show, and originally starring in its spinoff series A Different World. She earned widespread acclaim and several awards for her role, such as a nomination for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series in 1986.
