'Careless' Thriller Unveils MS Struggles, Launches Solly McLeod to Stardom!
Created by Helen Fitzgerald and Louise Fox, 'Careless' follows Angela and Mike, who hire help due to Mike's condition. Mike suffers from multiple sclerosis and does not easily tolerate fools. The series introduces Robbie, a young man with secrets, played by Solly McLeod. Executive producer Claire Mundell highlights the exploration of multiple sclerosis on television, a topic rarely addressed. The team worked with an MS consultant and actress Alison Peebles, who also lives with the disease, to ensure authenticity.

The series is a co-production of Stan, in association with Channel 4, All3Media International, Screen Scotland, and Australia's Nine Network, produced by Easy Tiger Productions and Synchronicity Films, and directed by Stevie Cruz-Martin. Mundell notes that honesty about a debilitating illness adds an interesting dimension to the story. The series promises a thriller with complex characters and unexpected twists.
Mundell praised the cast and script of 'Careless', describing the story as 'very taut'. Solly McLeod, who plays Robbie, is a rising actor with a promising future. In addition to 'Practical Magic 2', McLeod will participate in 'Anxious People' with Angelina Jolie. Mundell highlights the depth and nuances in McLeod's performance, emphasizing the character's vulnerability and inner darkness.

The series largely unfolds in a house, which increases the tension. The dynamic between the characters is complex, with Robbie introducing himself into the couple's lives. 'Careless' also moves to Scotland, contrasting the claustrophobia of the house with the outside world, emphasizing the danger the character faces.
Mundell sought a good balance of intrigue and menace, with the goal of portraying three-dimensional characters. Robbie is a product of his past, not a psychopath, with a personal mission and mixed feelings towards the couple. The co-production allows the series to feel authentic to both the Australian and British audiences. The series explores the consequences of actions and human relationships in an environment full of suspense and mystery.

Richard Roxburgh plays Mike and Robyn Malcolm plays Angela. The series promises to be a captivating television drama that addresses profound themes about illness and human relationships.
