Tiger Woods' TGL Finale Boosts Viewership, Shattering Records
The TGL season finale, featuring Tiger Woods' return, drew almost 1 million viewers to ESPN. The deciding match, where Los Angeles Golf Club defeated Jupiter Links Golf Club, the team co-owned by Woods, averaged 989,000 viewers. This figure represents the highest viewership of the 2026 season and the second-highest in the league's history, second only to the 1.005 million who watched Woods' debut in January 2025.

Woods' presence was crucial to the event's success. The match, which started at 7 p.m. ET, peaked at 1.15 million average viewers per minute. Although the broadcast lasted less than 90 minutes, Woods' impact on the audience was undeniable.
Woods' participation in the final match not only attracted a large audience but also increased the average of the four playoff matches to 618,000 viewers, a 42% increase compared to the 2025 playoffs, which averaged 434,000 viewers. The first match of the finals, without Woods, averaged 518,000 viewers.

The TGL league, which is looking to extend its agreement with ESPN or find a new partner, received an injection of optimism with Woods' return. The anticipation for Woods' team also translated into a 73% increase in viewership for the March 2026 matches compared to March 2025.
The impact of Woods' return was not limited to television, as it also generated a significant increase in social media activity. TGL reported an 86% increase in video views, reaching 232 million this season, compared to 81.3 million in 2025. In addition, 44 videos surpassed one million views this season.

These data demonstrate Woods' drawing power and his impact on the popularity of TGL, both on television and digital platforms. The league hopes to capitalize on this momentum to secure its future.
TGL Season 2 was measured using Nielsen's Big Data + Panel methodology, while Season 1 was panel-only. Tuesday night's match, where L.A. Golf Club won 9-2, demonstrated the dynamics of the format.

TGL, which is looking to extend its agreement with ESPN, hopes to capitalize on the momentum generated by Woods' return to secure its future. The deciding match demonstrated the public's interest in indoor golf and the appeal of the stars.
