Tiger Woods Returns! TGL Season 2 Wraps Up with Thrills, Millions in Prizes, and New Horizons
Season 2 of TGL concluded this week, as the indoor team golf league finally welcomed co-founder Tiger Woods back to SoFi Center. The Los Angeles Golf Club (LAGC) team swept Woods’s Jupiter Links Golf Club 2-0 in the finals. LAGC owners Alexis Ohanian and Serena Williams were in attendance to see their team capture the SoFi Cup.

Woods, who hadn't competed since March 2025 due to a left Achilles tendon injury and back surgery in October, made his TGL season debut in Match 2 on Tuesday.
LAGC members Justin Rose, Tommy Fleetwood, Sahith Theegala, and Collin Morikawa split $9 million in prize money. The Jupiter Links team, consisting of Max Homa, Tom Kim, Kevin Kisner, Akshay Bhatia, and Woods, received $4.5 million for second place.

The full TGL Season 2 prize money breakdown was as follows: Los Angeles Golf Club: $9 million; Jupiter Links Golf Club: $4.5 million; Boston Common Golf: $2.25 million; Atlanta Drive Golf Club: $2 million; The Bay Golf Club: $1.75 million; New York Golf Club: $1.5 million.
The total prize money for Season 2, which amounted to $21 million, was the same as in Season 1 in 2025. This demonstrates the league's commitment to recognizing and rewarding athletes.

The investment in prizes reflects TGL's ambition to attract top golfers and maintain audience interest.
After two seasons on ESPN platforms, TGL’s initial two-year media rights deal has expired. ESPN is expected to pursue an extension, and potentially a deal for the WTGL women’s competition that is planned to launch this coming winter.

Viewership for the TGL Finals will be available later this week. Heading into the championship round, Season 2 matches were averaging 463,000 viewers, which was down from last year’s 498,000 full-season average.
TGL is set to welcome its seventh franchise in Season 3, Motor City Golf Club. The expansion team’s ownership group is led by Middle West Partners, which is fronted by Michael and Peter Hamp, sons of Lions principal owner and chair Sheila Ford Hamp, who is also a team investor alongside her husband, Steve.

The expansion of TGL to seven teams indicates the growing popularity and growth potential of the indoor golf league.
