Keith Thurman Targets Fundora Stoppage in WBC Title Fight
Keith Thurman assured World Boxing News (WBN) that he has the power to knock out Sebastian Fundora when they clash for the WBC super welterweight title on March 28 in Las Vegas.

Watching Fundora’s past setbacks has convinced the former unified welterweight champion that the towering southpaw is far from indestructible.

“Watching Fundora get knocked out means anybody can do it,” Thurman told WBN. “He was dropped by my Florida stablemate Ericson Lubin and he was able to get out of that fight and put hands back on Lubin. But he was in a dangerous situation.”

“He’s been rocked and wobbled a few times in his career. No man is indestructible. That’s what ‘One Time’ is all about whether it’s one time to the head or one time to the body. I believe I have what it takes to finish off Sebastian Fundora.”

Fundora’s lone defeat came against Brian Mendoza, but the circumstances surrounding that loss are often overlooked.

The Californian was winning every round before being caught by a devastating counter shot, the kind of punch that can change any fight in an instant.

Young, confident and unbeaten at the time, Fundora paid the price for a brief lapse in concentration.

Three years later, the Fundora Thurman faces is a far more seasoned champion. The six-foot-six southpaw has rebuilt momentum and enters the bout with a 23-1-1 record.
Thurman will be fully aware of the improvements Fundora has made since that night.

For Thurman, the stakes could hardly be higher.

The former unified welterweight champion owns a 31-1 record but has endured long spells of inactivity over the past several years.

At 37, the Florida fighter knows this opportunity may represent his final real window to reclaim championship status.
If the ex-unified ruler is to prove he still belongs among boxing’s elite, he will need to show that time away from the ring has not dulled the power or timing that once made him one of the sport’s most dangerous punchers.

The clash headlines a Premier Boxing Champions pay-per-view event on Amazon Prime Video from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

With a world title on the line and both men bringing momentum into fight week, Thurman believes the stage is set for a statement performance.
The undercard features Yoenis Tellez against Brian Mendoza, Yoenli Hernandez against Terrell Gausha, and Elijah Garcia against Kevin Newman II.
