Two-time Olympic gold medalist Guillermo Rigondeaux has confirmed his return to the ring at age 45. The announcement was made during the signing of a promotional agreement at BOXR Gym in Miami, marking another attempt to return to the top of boxing. Rigondeaux, who dominated amateur boxing and reached the world championship, seeks to revive his career more than a decade after his peak.
“Here it is. Official. I want to say thank you for everything. Today we are signing a deal for an upcoming fight,” Rigondeaux declared during the signing. The Cuban boxer also sent a message to his fans: “I want to say to all my fans, ‘The Demon of the Earth’ is back!”
