Belarusian tennis player Aryna Sabalenka has demonstrated remarkable superiority on the WTA circuit, achieving her second consecutive Miami Open title after defeating Coco Gauff in a hard-fought final. This victory allowed her to complete the 'Sunshine Double', a feat that places her in a select group of players, alongside Steffi Graf, Kim Clijsters, Victoria Azarenka, and Iga Swiatek.

Sabalenka has maintained an impressive streak on US hard courts, with a record of 45 wins in 47 matches since the start of the 2024 Cincinnati Open.

At the 2025 Indian Wells Open, Mirra Andreeva, a young Russian tennis player, surprised the tennis world by defeating Sabalenka. Andreeva, playing in her second WTA 1000 final, managed to beat the Belarusian with a score of 2-6, 6-4, 6-3. Sabalenka, when asked about the loss, admitted it was a complicated match where she made unforced errors at crucial moments.

Sabalenka acknowledged that Andreeva played better and that she herself couldn't find her rhythm in the match. The Belarusian tennis player also noted that at the beginning of the match everything was going well, but then she made some mistakes that cost her the game.

At the 2025 Cincinnati Open, Elena Rybakina, currently ranked number two in the world, defeated Sabalenka in the quarterfinals. Rybakina, known for her powerful serve, achieved 11 aces and won 81% of the points with her first serve. The Kazakhstani player highlighted the importance of her serve in the match and stated that, if not for her good serve, the match would have been very different.

Rybakina, after defeating Sabalenka, advanced to the semifinals, where she was defeated by Iga Swiatek.

After a successful period in the United States, Aryna Sabalenka will focus on the European clay-court and grass-court season. Her tournament schedule includes the Madrid Open, the Italian Open, the French Open, and Wimbledon, among others. Sabalenka is expected to return to the United States for the Cincinnati Open, scheduled from August 3 to 13. Additionally, she could participate in the Washington Open, which begins on July 27.
