Michael Misa, the No. 2 pick of the 2025 NHL Draft, has shown significant promise in his rookie season. An NHL scout, not with the San Jose Sharks, predicts that Misa will put up some impressive numbers. This scout also anticipates that Misa and Macklin Celebrini could one day form one of the best center alignments in the NHL. Currently, Misa is trying to earn more ice time, as he has played fewer minutes than other key players since returning from the World Junior Championship on January 11.
The 19-year-old San Jose Sharks center played a career-high 17:53 against the Philadelphia Flyers on March 21. However, for the most part, Misa has played fewer minutes than Macklin Celebrini and Alex Wennberg. This is because Celebrini and Wennberg are staples on special teams, while Misa isn't necessarily ready for top power play time or short-handed minutes. Despite this, Misa is close to Wennberg in even-strength deployment.
