Bryon's messages also revealed details about his wife's alleged extramarital affair with Corey Lewandowski, to which he responded: "I know. There's nothing I can do about it". The reports, although not verified by an independent authority, were partially published due to the danger to national security, given Kristi Noem's former position as head of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Her position could have made her vulnerable to potential blackmail due to her husband's online activities.
