Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth stated Tuesday morning that he made a previously undisclosed visit to U.S. service members in the U.S. Central Command (Centcom) area over the weekend. Hegseth told reporters that he was in the Centcom area for approximately "half" of Saturday. For operational security and to prevent the troops from being targeted by Iran, he said the places and bases visited "will not be named".
Hegseth described the visit as an honor, highlighting the competence and commitment of American military personnel. During the visit, Hegseth interacted with personnel of all ranks and services, including Air Force and Navy pilots, officers, and intelligence analysts.
