Becky G, Joy, and Julieta Venegas Honored at Billboard Latin Women in Music 2026

Billboard and Telemundo announced that Becky G, Joy, and Julieta Venegas will be honored at the fourth annual Billboard Latin Women in Music. The event will air live on April 23 at 9 p.m. (ET) exclusively on Telemundo. The show will also be available via Peacock and the Telemundo app.

This televised annual gala recognizes Latin artists who promote positive change and greater inclusion in the music industry. Celebrating its fourth year, it has established itself as an important platform to celebrate the most outstanding women in Latin music.

Becky G will be honored with the Global Impact Award for her ability to connect with audiences worldwide. With over a decade of experience, the Mexican-American artist has achieved successes on the Billboard charts, such as “MAMIII” with Karol G, which topped the Hot Latin Songs for 10 weeks in 2022, and number 1 hits on Latin Airplay, including “Mayores” with Bad Bunny and “Sin Pijama” with Natti Natasha. Her influence extends beyond music, proudly representing her roots as an actress and businesswoman.

“As a passionate advocate for Latin representation, immigrant communities, female empowerment, and mental health awareness, Becky G leads with authenticity and purpose,” stated Billboard and Telemundo. Through her projects, she elevates Latin culture globally, inspiring the next generation.

Joy, the lead singer of the duo Jesse & Joy, will receive the Spirit of Change Award, highlighting her commitment to social causes. With over 20 years of experience, Joy has defended the rights of immigrants, LGBTQ+ equality, female empowerment, and animal welfare. She has achieved two Top 10s on Latin Airplay as part of Jesse & Joy, including the number 1 “¡Corre!”.

Her Broadway debut, as a co-writer of the songs for the musical Real Women Have Curves, earned her a Tony Award nomination. “Through her music, her activism, and her unwavering commitment to inclusion and justice, Joy continues to inspire change,” the statement added.

Julieta Venegas will receive the Artistic Excellence Award, recognizing her exceptional musical quality and unique creative identity. With over three decades in music, the Mexican singer-songwriter has defined the sound of Latin alternative pop, with a personal composition and multi-instrumentalist talent, especially on the accordion and piano. She has achieved multiple entries on Top Latin Albums and Latin Pop Albums, including hits like Limón y Sal. Her latest album, Tu Historia, received a Latin Grammy in 2023. She currently leads radio in Mexico with her release “Tengo que contarte” with Natalia Lafourcade.

The statement highlights that Venegas has expanded the space for female singer-songwriters in Latin music, maintaining creative control and demonstrating that it is possible to have a mainstream career without renouncing authenticity.

In previous editions, the gala has recognized artists such as Anitta, Belinda, Celia Cruz, Chiquis, Ha*Ash, Natti Natasha, Olga Tañón, and Selena Gomez. Gloria Estefan, Thalia, and Shakira, among other prominent figures in Latin music, have also been honored.
