Christopher North, the founding keyboardist for the prog and soft-rock band Ambrosia, has died at the age of 75. The news was confirmed by the band via a statement on Facebook. North was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2024, a disease he managed to overcome. However, in October 2025, he suffered an accident after being hit by a speeding car, followed by pneumonia.
His work with the Hammond B3 organ was fundamental to Ambrosia's sound, creating a 'sonic architecture' that defined a generation of progressive and soft rock. His solos on hits like "Biggest Part of Me" and "You're the Only Woman (You & I)" were essential to the band.
